Notes:

In the present sheet, a woman leads two children along a path in front of a solidly rendered country building. Bevan was born in Sussex in 1865, and he trained first at the Westminster School of Art and then in 1889 at Académie Julian in Paris. He spent an extended stay in Brittany from 1890-1894. The present drawing was possibly made during that period.
