Description
The drawing entered the Morgan collection with an attribution to Giorgio Vasari. Though Vasari included allegorical figures in projects throughout his career, the present study does not agree with his graphic identity and was not included in Florian Härb’s 2015 catalogue raisonné of the artist’s drawings. To date, no convincing alternative attribution has been proposed.
