Notes:

This study of a seated, partially draped male figure resembles an academic figure study, possibly made during Dunoyer de Segonzac's studies at the Académie de la Palette in Paris during the first decade of the twentieth century. An inscription on the verso of the drawing with color notations "gris bleu. . .blanc," suggests the artist was using the sheet in preparation for a painting.

Inscription:

Inscribed on verso in black chalk, "gris bleu del. blanc/I"
