Christ's Entry into Jerusalem
Pen and brown ink and red chalk, with white opaque watercolor and collaged elements on laid paper lined to decorative mount.
10 15/16 x 15 1/2 inches (277 x 395 mm)
The Joseph F. McCrindle Collection.
2009.217
Notes:

Formerly attributed to Raffaellino da Reggio (1550-1578).
This drawing entered the Morgan Library & Museum from the Joseph F. McCrindle Collection under the name Raffaellino da Reggio (1550-1578). Such an attribution likely remained intact due to an inscription at the lower right of the sheet, "Rafaellino da Regio detto dal Colle." The inscription is probably a conflation of the names "Raffaellino da Reggio" and "Raffaellino dal Colle" (Colle, near Borgo San Sepolcro ca. 1490-1566 Borgo San Sepolcro). However, the drawing appears to be by neither artist.

Inscription:

Inscribed at lower right in pen and brown ink, "Rafaellino da Regio detto dal Colle".

Joseph F. McCrindle, New York (McCrindle collection no. A0857), as Raffaello Motta.
Associated names:
