Notes:
Thomas Nozkowski is an abstract painter who began working in the late 1960s. Rather than creating a signature image, he has developed an idiosyncratic form of abstraction characterized by varied and colorful combinations of geometric and biomorphic shapes. His drawings, like his paintings, are typically modest in scale and very carefully crafted. By mixing media, like in the present work, Nozkowski achieves subtle effects of surface and texture that adds to the complexity of his intimate, yet strong and engaging works.
