The inscription on the album leaf is an old attribution to the Dutch artist Michiel van Miereveldt (1567-1641).

Inscribed on verso at lower center in pen and brown ink: "Sitters Vaandrager Tot L"[?; partially cut off]" / Bally"; on album leaf beyond decorative border at right in graphite: "Miervelt".
