It is not known where Moitte was born, but she studied with LeBarbier and married the artist Jean-Guillaume Moitte (1746-1819). This sheet comes from an album of ninety leaves consisting of sketches of members of the Moitte family executed ca. 1797. The album was sold at auction at Christie's in 1996.
