Cochin executed this design for the Missal of the Royal Chapel at Versailles, which is now preserved in the Bibliothéque nationale de France, Paris (Department of Manuscripts, M. Lat. 8896-97). The vignette appears as a tailpiece for the Feast of the Blessed Sacrament contained in the Gospels (folio 45, verso). Cochin executed a large number of drawings for the Missal, several of which are now in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
