Watermark: countermark with number 4 above letter "B".
Teniers revised and continued the composition previously set down on the left-two thirds of the sheet by an unidentified follower of Pieter Bruegel the Elder.

Inscribed on verso, in graphite; at upper left edge, "940-5-83"; at lower left "2073".
