Watermark: (visible through lining, with fiber-optic light): tankard, with two bands, letters, and trefoil (variant of Briquet 12631-32; cf. also 12724).
After a banner painted by Lancelot Blondeel in 1545 for the Guild of Painters and Saddlers of Bruges.

Inscription: 

Dated at the base of the throne, by the artist, in pen, "1552".
