West's 1814 painting, "Christ Rejected by the Jews," was on view in the Great Room, formerly the Royal Academy, 125 Pall Mall; from June until late fall 1814.

Inscription: 

Signed and dated, "Benjn. ["n" superscript] West Decemr. ["r" superscript] 21st. ["st" superscript] 1813-." Inscribed on verso in pencil by a different hand, "Portfolio / with ods & ends / journals-Drawings / of mine and the childrens / M M 1856".
