Watermark: none
Although attributed to the Emilian painter Giovanni Battista Tinti when acquired, this drawing was subsequently recognized by Mario di Giampaolo and Marco Tanzi as a study by Viani for frescoes in the Duomo of Mantua. Other drawings probably for the same project include a Study of Musical Angels in a private collection, a Holy Trinity in the Louvre (inv. 12593), a study of angels with the symbols of the passion in the Winnipeg Art Gallery (G-66-102), and a drawing sold at Koller Auctions, Zurich, 1 October 2021, lot 3404.
