Notes:

Among the more than 250 drawings from Domenico Tiepolo's series of Biblical Scenes, thirty-five depict events from the later life of St. Peter. With his left arm upraised and his right outstretched, the saint commands a crippled beggar to rise in the name of Jesus Christ. The scene takes place before the Beautiful Gate (Porta Speciosa) of the Temple in Jerusalem. --Exhibition Label, from "Tiepolo, Guardi, and Their World: Eighteenth-Century Venetian Drawings"
