Giovanni Piancastelli, Rome (1845-1926; Lugt 2078a); Edward and Mary Brandegee, Boston (Lugt 1860c); unidentified collector's stamp in brown ink on verso; purchased in New York in 1948 by János Scholz, New York (no mark; see Lugt S. 2933b).

The traditional attribution of this drawing was to Paolo Veronese and the drawing may well be by a Veronese follower. although while in the Scholz collection the drawing was published with an attribution to Leandro Bassano.
