Signed and dated at lower center, in brown ink, "IM(in ligature)oucheron Fecit 1742". Inscribed on the verso, at center, in the hand of Ploos van Amstel, in graphite, "da stads mauer omtrent t Kastel Angelo buyte rome / I de Moucheron"; at lower left, in the same hand, also in graphite, "hoog 8 1/2 / bred 7dm"; at lower left corner, in brown ink, "I[or J?]: N 79"; and below, in graphite, "f a".
