Inscription: 

Inscribed at upper right, in a later hand, in graphite, "A. Cuyp". Inscribed on the verso: at center, in black chalk, "105"; at lower left, in graphite, "CUYP / 454"; and at the lower left corner, in another hand (possibly that of Engelberts), in graphite, "CJ120: / IS ls / dJ / RS XLO".
Watermark: Fleur-de-lis within a shield, ver 4 and letter "W", fragment of bottom, (similar to Heawood, no. 1761: Schieland, 1625).
