Inscribed on the verso, at upper center, in brown ink, "Berchem / ..." [illegible]; at lower right, twice in graphite, "17"; and at bottom right corner, in another hand, in brown ink, "No. ["o" in superscript]..." [obscured by glue stain in corner].
Watermark: Countermark: Letters "CD" (similar to Heawood, no. 61: [van de Velde drawing of ca. 1665-6 in the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich]), Letters placed on either side of one chain line, joined by bottom serif.
