Notes
              This drawing was originally part of the now dismembered album 10 of the artist's twelve "albums factices", compiled during his first trip to Italy in 1774.  There are five other David drawings from album 10 in the collection of the Library, two after antique subjects (Acc. No. 1978.42:1-2), two Roman landscapes (Acc. No. 1988.39:1-2), and one Alpine landscape (Acc. No. 1991.6).

              Inscribed in an old hand (David's?) at bottom in graphite, "Mme. La Pesse. Borgheze faite de souvenir par David".
