Acquired by Pierpont Morgan sometime between 1885 and 1908.
Notes
"The patterns of alternating rosettes and hieroglyphs in the columns on this seal resemble the borders encircling the central motifs in Hittite stamp seals, for example Ashmolean 191. THis may indicate that 1101 originated in Asia Minor in the time of the Younger Hittite empire, that is, in the fourteenth or thirteenth century B.C."--Porada, CANES, p. 156
