"On most of the seals [in the group nos. 427-462] the god faces a suppliant goddess. Occasionally a second suppliant goddess appears (430-432)... In 430 a god holding a scimitar and standing on a lion is placed at the left of the group comprising the god with a mace standing between two suppliant goddesses. As suggested in the discussion of the contest friezes and of the god with a lion scimitar, the deity holding a scimitar and associated with a lion may be Nergal." Porada, CANES, p. 52
