Signed and dated lower left, "Rembrandt f. 1661" (the 'd' in reverse).

Watermark: None.
The signature has been retraced in drypoint and a small blank triangle after the date filled in with hatching. Light surface tone is visible on the background and on areas of the foreground such as the hanging sleeve. (Boston 1969, no. 118)
