Matthew 27:60, Mark 15:46-47, Luke 23:53 and John 19:41-42.
A light semicircle has been burnished behind the skulls, throwing them into relief. Diagonal shading darkens the block projecting from the right margin. Heavy plate tone almost swallows up the figures at the left while wiping focuses a strong light on the body of Christ. (Boston 1969, no. 82)
