Inscription by Coppenol (the sitter) on the margin at the bottom: "De Kunst blinckt in den Mensch verscheidelÿck verdeelt. / Dus leeft de Meester van de Schrÿfkunst afgebeelt. / J. Six de Chandelier / Composuit. / Lievan van Coppenol/ Scripsit An[o superscript] 1667."
