Workshop | Learning to Read Tarot with Sasha Graham
Unlock secret symbols of tarot with internationally acclaimed tarot author, teacher, and deck creator Sasha Graham. In this workshop held in J. Pierpont Morgan’s Library and the exhibition Tarot! Renaissance Symbols, Modern Visions, Graham explores how artist Pamela Colman Smith and occultist Arthur Waite combined their knowledge of astrology, Kabbalah, metaphysics, and theater to create the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. Learn how to foster a card-a-day practice, conduct readings, and embrace narrative and storytelling through the cards.
Sasha Graham teaches and lectures around the world. Her work has been translated into Chinese, Italian, Russian, French, Spanish, Polish, and Portuguese. She is the author of Tarot Diva, 365 Tarot Spreads, 365 Tarot Spells, and Llewellyn’s Complete Book of the Rider Waite Smith Tarot. She is editor and author of Lo Scarabeo’s Tarot Fundamentals, Tarot Experience, and Tarot Compendium. She has contributed to Llewellyn’s Magical Almanac, Witches’ Datebook, and Llewellyn’s Witches’ Calendar. Her tarot decks include Tarot of Haunted House, Dark Wood Tarot, and Tarot of the Witch’s Garden.
This workshop is recommended for beginner tarot readers and enthusiasts. Each participant will receive their own Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck to keep.
