Workshop | The Art of Storytelling
Celebrate the tradition of storytelling through the written word. In this workshop, participants will write fiction and/or creative nonfiction inspired by art objects from ancient to contemporary in the exhibition Come Together: 3000 Years of Stories and Storytelling. In partnership with The Writers Studio, instructor Scott Hunter will provide writing prompts and talk through examples of literary works to guide the writing process.
Participants will meet at the Morgan’s main entrance at 10 AM for an exclusive-before-hours tour of the exhibition Come Together: 3000 Years of Stories and Storytelling, followed by a two-and-a-half hour workshop.
Scott Hunter is the author of over 10,000 postcards. A 2018 Lambda Literary fellow, his short fiction has appeared in the Kyoto Journal, Blood Orange Review, and The Hong Kong Review. His work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and he is currently working on a novel. Hunter has taught introductory classes at The Writers Studio since 2016.
