Vivaldi, Venice, and the Influence of Italy
St. Luke’s Chamber Ensemble
With their emphasis on beautiful lines, immaculate detail, intricate counterpoint, and sparkling virtuosity, Italian Renaissance art and the music of the Baroque era have much in common. This concert puts these parallels in relief by juxtaposing the Morgan's exhibitions Pontormo: Miraculous Encounters and Drawing in Tintoretto's Venice with chamber works by Italian composers.
