Hello Friends!

Celebrate Pride with a vibrant evening honoring queer voices in art and literature. Enjoy live music, artmaking, dancing, drinks, and art set against the Morgan’s iconic Gilded Age glamour. Discover books and manuscripts by LGBTQ+ creators in the Historic Library, dive into the avant-garde world of photographer Peter Hujar in the exhibition Hujar:Contact, and explore the art collection of poet John Ashbery in Friends Who Came to See Me: Drawings from John Ashbery’s Collection. Dance, draw, and meet new friends in an evening of joy and celebration. Morgan After Hours is open to ages 21 and up. Suggested dress: Fabulous fashion.

Film: Where Did Our Love Go? (1966) by Warren Sonbert (6:30, 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, 8:30)
Experimental filmmaker Warren Sonbert chronicles his community at work and play in the Janis and Castelli galleries, Warhol’s Factory, the Bleecker Street Cinema, and other iconic spaces for the artistic and social milieu of New York City in the 1960s. Run time: 15 minutes.

A Queer Collection
Add your voice to a community art project inspired by LGBTQ+ history in the Morgan’s collection. 

See and Be Seen
Drawing teaches us to really see one another. Find a partner and draw blind contour portraits by keeping your pencils on the paper and your eyes on each other.
