Wednesday, November 12, 2025, 6–7 PM
Tickets
$25; $20 for Morgan Members

Anne Distel, honorary general curator of patrimony at the Musée d’Orsay and co-curator of Renoir Drawings, is among the world’s leading experts on Auguste Renoir, having extensively researched his career, published several books, and created one of the first “blockbuster” exhibitions of his paintings. In this conversation with Sarah Lees, co-curator of the Morgan’s exhibition, she will discuss the popularization of Renoir’s works on paper in the twentieth century through exhibitions, sales, and publications, as well as his status as one of the most prominent of the Impressionist artists.

This program will take place in J. Pierpont Morgan’s Historic Library. Doors to the Library will open 30 minutes before the program begins. Attendees are invited to view Renoir Drawings from 5:30–6 PM.
