Illustration accompanied a satirical essay about an anti-Catholic speech delivered by the Duke of York to Parliament on April 25, 1825, in which he stated that he hoped that "no further concession may be made to the Roman Catholics". The speech was subsequently published by Septimus Prowett, 23 Old Bond Street, London, and printed by J. Whittaker in gold on very heavy paper.
