  Notes
Issued in portfolio in 100 copies.
Little is known about Harold LaVigne, who was part of a circle of San Francisco artists that included Rick Barton (1928-1992) and David Nelson (b. 1941). In 1965 he opened a short-lived gallery called Joker's Flux. He produced several editions, including this portfolio of portraits, under his own imprint, Running Elk. Lacking access to a press, he asked Andrew Hoyem (b. 1935), of the Grabhorn-Hoyem Press, to assist with the printing.
