Notes
In 1810 House speaker Charles Abbott issued a warrant forthe arrest of Francis Burdett on the charge of libelling the House of Commons; Burdett was ultimately conveyed to the Tower of London where he was confined until the end of the parliamentary session.
Lettered "Warrant of the Speaker of the House of Commons to take into custody, and commit Sir Francis Burdett, Bart. M.P. to the Tower of London, Veneria, 6° Die Aprilis 1810 ... Given under my hand, the sixth day of April, 1810 / Charles Abbott, Speaker."
