Summary

Print shows the interior of a building resembling the House of Commons, the members being women dressed in the extravagant fashions of the day; all wear wide hats, projecting breasts, and inflated petticoats. The Speaker has risen from the chair and appears to be addressing a lady who stands on the extreme right, making a speech. On the table are two papers: 'Bill to Amend the Human Shape' and 'Bill to naturalize bodily deformity'. From the ceiling, in place of a candelabra, hangs an open umbrella, under which a pair of petticoat extenders or 'bustlers' is attached. Cf. George.
