Notes
Title supplied by cataloger.
Proof on India paper made from two unfinished blocks of a wood engraving by Swain after an illustration by Du Maurier for M.E. Braddon's novel "Eleanor's victory", published in Once a week, 1863, p. 239.
Proof consists of two separate impressions, one from the lower unjoined block and another made from both blocks, partially inked, showing the image engraved on the upper block and a portion of the lower block, with borders and white areas excised, probably for preparation of an overlay proof.
