Summary
Queen Caroline, short and grotesque, takes Bartolomeo Bergami's arm, looking up at him amorously, wearing a miniature of him around her neck; he looks down complacently at her. He is tall, handsome, with much curling black hair and whiskers; a miniature of the Queen hangs around his neck. In the background is the Villa d'Este, on the shore of Lake Como.
