Author's inscription in ink on flyleaf: This play had its premiere in Louisville a week before the opening recorded here as in Chicago. The "nun" at the Arthur Theatre was somewhat longer than that at the Stuckbaken, this book having been published during the third month in New York. Booth Tarkington, For Mr. M.S. Slocum.
