An exact facsimile of the manuscript of the work later expanded and published as "Alice's adventures in Wonderland", written and illustrated by C.L. Dodgson ("Lewis Carroll") and presented to Alice Liddell in November 1864; produced by Jaffe in Vienna for Eldridge R. Johnson who then owned the original, now in the British Museum.
Title page and verso (dedication) written and illustrated in color; chapter headings and ill. on p. 88 in red and black; all colors reproduced lithographically.
Includes, p. 90, pasted-in photograph of Alice Liddell Hargreaves at age 7, and laid-in leaf with "happy summer days/The end" made by Dodgson to cover photograph when the 1st facsimile ed. was printed in 1886.
