Canon law of the ecclesiastical province of Canterbury, as collected and abridged in 1433 by William Lyndwood, with his explanatory gloss. Regarded by some authorities as law for the Church of England.
First ed. of Badius recension.
The editio princeps was printed by Theodore Rood in 1484 (PML 76398, ChL 1821F). Library has several other editions.
Imprint from colophon (leaf cxxii) which reads: "Explicitu[m] est opus magistri wilhelmi lyndewode super co[n]stitutiones prouinciales Anglie summa diligentia ... mag[ist]ri Andree Bocard ... anno salutis nostre Millesimo quingentesimoprimo Maij vero die. xxviij".
Text printed in two columns, in red and black; red woodcut initials; text surrounded by commentary; headlines in red, marginal notations in black.
