Although the t.p. reads "Carneuale del 1615" the ceremonies were actually held in February 1616 "parce que selon l'usage du lieu, l'année nouvelle ne commenc̦ait alors qu'au 25 mars" (Nancy).

The director of the festivities in honor of Cosimo's wife was Giovanni del Turco; the music was composed by Jacopo Peri, Paolo Grazi and Giovanni Battista Signorini; the choreographer was Agnolo Ricci, and costumes and scenography were designed by Giulio Parigi.
