F.R. Bussell's collection of English children's books of the 17th to mid-19th-centuries was purchased by the National Magazine Co. and exhibited at the National Book League in London in 1947 (the first exhibition following WWII). In February 1953 it was acquired by Edgar Oppenheimer.
