The 87 woodcuts, all larger than half-page, were cut for this edition, perhaps by Marcolini (see Mambelli).
Vellutello's biographical sketch of Dante is taken from L. Bruni's Vita di Dante.
Three lines omitted (Purg. ii. 62-64) were printed by hand after the edition was completed (leaf V7).
Printed in italic fonts throughout.
Register of signatures is printed below colophon (leaf BI7).
Guide letters for initials are present.

Contemporary brown goatskin, gold-tooled on panels in floral arabesques and fleurons, with quadruple fillet border, spine blind-tooled in interlaced pattern, all in Venetian style; in a brown paper decorative box by Duprez Lahey.
