Originally written in Latin by N. Chorier. The first edition claims that the author was a Spanish woman, Luisa Sigea, whose erotic dialogues in the manner of the Greek satirical poet Sotades were translated into Latin by Johannes van Meurs. Later editions appear under his name, with the title Elegantiae latini sermonis, or under the name of Philippe Garnier.
