Date of publication from Richard Pennington's A descriptive catalogue of the etched work of Wenceslaus Hollar 1607-1677, p. liv.
The 47 etchings by Hollar correspond to the 52 given by Pennington for the 1816 M'Creery collection with these exceptions: numbers 610-613 and 1647 not present and no. 1832 rather than 1830; the title plate for the Theatrum Mulierum (no. 1804) is Pennington's state ix, but without the words "Prima pars". Cf. Pennington, R. Hollar, p. liv.
The six plates by Theodore van Kessel are of farm animals and include a title plate: Alcvne animali desegnate per Gioanni vanden Hecke et intaglte. per Theod. van Kessel an[n]o 1654.
