Notes
A "standard" edition prepared by Thomas Parish, with Lloyd's dates, and chronological notes. In this edition a serious attempt was made to correct the text of King James' version by amending the spelling and punctuation anf removing printes' errors; marginal annotations were finallly received into the place they have occupied ever since.
The Apocrypha is included in the list of books but has separate register.
Followed by an index to the Bible, with continuous signatures.
Edited by F.S. Paris, revised and corrected by H. Therold.
Not paginated. Continuous signatures.
Frontispiece designed by F. Hayman, engraved by C. Grignion. With the Apocrypha, and with marginal notes. Plates designed by M. Scheits, G. Hoet, and others; engraved by G.v.d. Gucht, M.v.d. Gucht, and others.
The N.T. has a separate titlepage bearing the imprint: Cambridge: printed by Joseph Bentham, by whom they are sold in Cambridge, and by Benj. Dod, London.
The Cambridge folio edition (ESTC T91946) of this year was printed from the same setting of type, "lengthened" by leading between lines. Copies of the folio edition are very scarce; it is said that only five survived a fire at Dod's warehouse (although 13 are now recorded in ESTC, as of Aug. 2018).
