The 2nd plate is inserted from the 1508 ed. and is the celebrated one by Ruysch showing Greenland and the peninsula of "Terra Nova". The 2nd map is in the 3rd state and is distinguished by having the inscription "comibalos.in." below the island "La Dominica" which was not mentioned in the 1st state. The 1st state lack the inscription : Risacus sinus / Agisimbus sinus / Gruenlanteus / [Seyllan oceanus] (with si/nus ... above). The 2nd state has only one or possibly 2 of these names. The 3rd state as in this copy.
