Modern reprint with regard to literal accuracy, from the George Bannatyne MS. (fol. 90a-92a), the only record of the poems of Alexander Scott compiled in 1568.
Printed on vellum, at about the same time (?) when the Bannatyne MS was transcribed for the Hunterian Club, 1873.
This poem is the longest, and by far, the most important of Alexander Scott's collection. Its value lies in the picture it presents of the lamentable condition of the Scottish people in the late 16th century.
