An answer to the profession and declaration made by Iames marques of Hammilton, His Maiesties high commissioner, imprinted at Edinburgh anno 1638, in December.

Approbation at foot of p. 52, "Revised according to the ordinance of the generall Assembly, by me Mr. A. Ihonston clerk thereto: Edinb. 14 of Feb. 1639"; Sir A. A reply to Hamilton's declaration beginning "Whereas some have given out ...", explaining the royal proclamation of 9 Sept. 1638 (Adams 5983).
In this, the t.p. has imprint: Edinburgh Printed by Iames Bryson, 1639. In another state the t.p. has no imprint.
Signature G² is found in two settings: in one, p. 49, leaf 13 has reading "cleare"; in the other, it has reading "clear".
