Inscriptions/Markings
Contemporary Dutch painted red and blue initials with filigree foliate decoration, minor red and blue initials, paragraph marks, and red capital strokes. Woodcut of St. Augustine colored in red, blue, green, and yellow. Annotations: A few contemporary Latin marginal notations. Calendar with contemporary Dutch inscriptions citing death of a father (Arent Merscelis, Dec. 1540), brother (Peter Aertszoon, April 1556), and sister (Luitgen, 4 May 1556), and author's entry into cloister (April 1540).
