Case contains: 'The argument', 1 volume (36 unnumbered pages : illustrations ; 29 x 39 cm) with a section of notes on the plates, 'The plates', (25 unnumbered sheets : illustrations ; 28 x 38 cm), 'The Colors', 1 volume (25 unnumbered leaves of plates : colour illustrations ; 19 x 27 cm) containing linoleum prints of colour studies recorded by Russell Maret at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation,
"Character Traits was designed and printed by Russell Maret. The Plates were printed on a Brand New etching press manufactured by Conrad Machine Co; The Argument on a Vandercook Universal III and an FAG Control 405. The text is set in Pisolino and Sans Pisolino, both of which were designed by Russell Maret. The text and plate papers were made specially for the book by Travis Becker at Twinrocker Handmade Paper ... Nancy Loeber assisted in the printing and production ... Eighty-three copies have been made. The standard edition consists of sixty numbered copies, of which five are proofs; the deluxe of twenty-three copies numbered with Roman numerals, of which three are proofs ..."--Colophon.
