Notes
"Traveling through the dream world is a journey into the depths of the mind where the boundaries of reality blur and the subconscious takes flight. In this mysterious domain, landscapes morph into surreal vistas, and time dances to its peculiar tune. It's a realm where imagination reigns supreme, unfettered by the constraints of the waking world. ... This Side of Night reflects the soul's journey through the dream world, inviting viewers to contemplate the complexities of liminal spaces and how we marry into them."--Artist's statement on colophon leaf.
"My Black woman magic / Created a world under the moon / Where Black Birds gather / Their bodies shimmer a blue black / Wings moving to the ancient rhythms of time / Over and over / All at once around me / Their bodies weightless, / Stretched Long / On this side of night."--Printed on illustrated colophon leaf and also across the prints.
One of the 8 prints is adhered to the verso of the vertically-folding center sheet; all other sheets fold horizontally and are printed on recto only.
From an edition of 10 + 2 artist's proofs.
Morgan's copy is number 4/10.
