3-panel altar card with a woodcut of the Last Supper at the left, a central panel of typographic text, and Christ as the Man of Sorrows at right.
3 types used in central text panel attributed to Wolfgang Schenck at Erfurt (ex-info Oliver Duntze and Falk Eisermann/Gesamtkatalog der Wiegendrucke).
The Man of Sorrows woodcut is likely derived from Albrecht Dürer's composition of the same in drypoint dated 1512. The woodcut was reused in another altar card dated ca. 1525 now at Halberstadt Dom (see Schmidt, 2010).

Inscriptions/Markings
Hand decoration: Woodcuts hand colored. Red and blue initials added to typographic text, with red crosses and capital strokes. Annotations: Contemporary manuscript prayer "Obsecro te domine Ihesu Christe, ut passio tua sit virtus mea..." from the Seven Prayers of St. Gregory on the Passion of the Lord added in a German hand to verso of left panel, with an inscription beneath stating that Pope John offers 300 days indulgence from the recitation of this prayer.
